Crafting Pantun Poetry: A Reflection in Verse

*Title: Whispers of the Moonlit Night*

Beneath the sky, the stars align,

The river flows, its path divine.

A gentle breeze, the night's embrace,

The moonlight falls with tender grace.

The lotus blooms, a soft perfume,

Its petals dance in twilight's room.

A fleeting thought, a heart's delight,

In dreams, we soar beyond the night.

The rooster crows, the dawn is near,

A new day's hope will soon appear.

Yet in the dark, the soul takes flight,

To find its peace in whispers' light.

Creating this pantun was a journey of weaving imagery and rhythm into harmony. The structure of a pantun traditionally follows an ABAB rhyme scheme, where the first two lines (sampiran) set the scene or mood, and the last two lines (isi) convey the deeper meaning or message. In crafting this piece, I drew inspiration from nature's tranquility and the timeless beauty of the night. Each word was carefully chosen to evoke a sense of serenity while adhering to the traditional form. Writing pantun is both an art and a discipline—a dance between creativity and structure that brings poetic expression to life.

Happy writing
